It was discovered as a chance seedling at the Arnold Arboretum around 1950, and was named after Donald Wyman (1904-1993) who served as Arnold Arboretum horticulturist from 1936 to 1970. Fragrant, white, single flowers (to 1 3\/4” diameter) bloom in abundance in spring (April). Flowers are followed by bright red crabapples (to 3\/8” diameter) that mature in fall. Crabapples persist on the tree well into winter, providing additional interest. Birds are attracted to the fruit. Leaves are dark green and toothed. Leaves turn amber-gold in fall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv id=\"MainContentPlaceHolder_ProblemsRow\" class=\"row\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e","brand":"Rolling Ridge Nursery","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46709411479721,"sku":null,"price":149.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0514\/8606\/4809\/files\/8726_flwf_high.jpg?v=1780894202","url":"https:\/\/rollingridgenursery.com\/products\/donald-wyman-crabapple-7","provider":"Rolling Ridge Nursery","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
